About the Business
Keills is a property fund manager and was formed in 2008, the result of a management buy out by the two founding directors Alan Howie and Andy Speedie. Keills is distinguished by its founders and their ability and willingness to take a fresh look at markets. We believe that the economic landscape has fundamentally changed and as a direct consequence of this we have adapted our considerable experience to this new world order. Long term property investment performance is driven by rents, just like long term equity performance is about dividends.
Quite simply, we think the drivers of average rental growth have gone and that investors should concentrate more on income security, alternative uses and of course, location. Rental growth is still present in some sub-markets but this is difficult to capture without 'betting the farm'. Our approach is to buy well located assets let to excellent quality tenants where rental increases are linked to inflation. We call this RPI Property.
